How can I locate my stolen Nintendo Switch?

The Nintendo Switch does not come with a tracker. However, customer support can help you locate your stolen device. But where’s this serial number?

It is usually located at the bottom of your device, next to the USB C port. It can also be found in the console’s device info menu under System Settings. Please keep it safe by copying it.

You can get the serial number on the device if you have difficulty finding it or don’t have access to it. The serial number should be on the box, along with information about the machine’s make and model.

There is another way to locate the serial number if you don’t own the box or need help remembering where it was placed. If this happens, contact the retailer that sold the device to get their support.

As a precaution, most retailers keep track of serial numbers and model numbers of any products they sell. Sometimes you can find the serial number on your purchase receipt.

Now that you have the serial number and the most critical information, it is time to contact Nintendo. Tell Nintendo customer service what happened. They may ask for additional information, such as where you bought the device or your account passwords. Once they have all the necessary information, they can look up the serial numbers in their database.

Any device connected to the internet on any planet can be identified by its IP address, and the last time it was used. This is all you need. Although you can easily follow the information, we recommend you give it to the authorities to track the person who stole your gaming experience safely.

The Effects of Playing Video Games on Your Mind

All sorts of mental health problems can be attributed to video games. According to some studies, gaming can make people angry, depressed, violent, and even aggressive. Each of these claims is true. But there’s more to the story. Is there a relationship between video gaming and mental health? Is video gaming good for your mental well-being?
Video gaming excessively is associated with positive emotions, social relationships, and good moods. Excessive and problematic video gaming can also be related to poor academic performance, maladaptive coping strategies, and negative emotions.

Video games aren’t evil by nature. They don’t necessarily cause depression or anxiety. Video game addiction can make these problems worse. Continue reading to discover the harmful effects of video gaming addiction on the brain and how you can continue playing video games without harming your mental health.

How do video games affect feelings and mental health?

We need to ask another question to answer this question: Why do people play video games?

Many gamers began playing video games to escape from real life. Perhaps they were bullied at school and then teased when they got home. A video game is the only way to escape such situations. It is the only place they can escape the emotional pains of real life.

An fMRI study examined the activity of various brain parts in gamers. The amygdala, which is the brain part that controls fear and other negative emotions, is what you should be paying attention to. The study showed that the amygdala calms when it is active, i.e., when you feel fear or pain and play a video game. Video games allow us to suppress negative emotions and escape them.

Negative emotions are one the best teachers for the brain. A child who has never touched a hot stove once will never feel it again. Video games can suppress negative emotions and make it difficult to learn from mistakes.

People get trapped playing video games even though it affects their lives and progress. They believe they are lazy because they don’t understand why they can’t quit, so they continue to play video games.

Alexithymia

Alexithymia is a condition where someone suppresses emotions for prolonged periods. Alexithymia refers to the inability to determine one’s inner feelings. Most gamers are alexithymic because video games suppress emotions and adversely affect our mental health.

Alexithymia can be described as an adaptive and protective mechanism. People often lack an emotional guide to help them understand their emotions. People end up suppressing their emotions because it is easier to feel pain.

They lose the ability to recognize what emotions they are feeling over time. However, this does not mean they can no longer control their feelings; they don’t know when it will happen.

Men who display emotions like shame, fear, or sadness are considered less masculine in our society than men who don’t. Anger is the only acceptable emotion they can display. This severely restricts their emotional ability and makes them more vulnerable to developing alexithymia.

Negative emotions build up over time due to constant suppression. The pressure they place on our minds eventually becomes too much to bear. These are the times when gamers experience emotional outbursts.

They resort to the only strategy they know: gaming to suppress their emotions. They end up playing video games all day. They neglect aspects of their lives such as school performance, hygiene, and physical health. This leads to more negative emotions they must suppress. They end up in a negative feedback loop.

Video Games and Depression

An increase in anxiety and depression is associated with playing video games. But correlation does not always mean causation. People who are depressed or unhappy are attracted to video games because it helps to suppress their negative emotions. They become stuck in their lives because of their gaming addiction. They end up unhappy.

There is a distinction between clinical depression and feeling unhappy. Clinical depression is when someone can feel happy but not be fully fulfilled. You will most likely be painful if you’re stuck in your life and don’t move toward your goals. Sometimes you can have one or both. It is difficult to tell the difference. It is good to seek the advice of licensed mental health professionals if you feel depressed.

Anxiety and Video Games

The ability of our mind to predict future problems is a strength. Anxiety is when this ability becomes out of control.

An addiction can cause anxiety in video games. This is because we don’t do the things we know we should. We are okay with ignoring them or not doing them in the future. These things are what we are most concerned about. These consequences are in the future.

Each anxious thought has its roots in the future. Although video games don’t necessarily cause anxiety, they can make your life more stressful and cause you to lose sight of other essential things.

Are Video Games a Cause of Low Self-Esteem

A person addicted to video gaming with low self-worth will likely have low confidence and self-worth.

Online gamers don’t have to be judged on external factors. Others see gamers as they are and don’t judge them on their appearance, what they have, what they earn, what cars they drive, or how they dress.

They feel uncomfortable when they go out into the real world. They tend to avoid the outdoors and stay in. This worsens matters as they miss opportunities to learn and explore. Their low self-esteem and confidence continue to decline over time.

Conclusion

Gaming is not always the cause of mental problems. You can be healthy and still enjoy playing video games. People who don’t know how to manage their emotions tend to turn to video games to suppress their feelings and get stuck in life.

Consider our guide to the best wireless gaming mouse for your new PC.

It’s time to find out which PCs are the best for gaming.

The best gaming PC you can buy is whatever you can find for a reasonable price due to a severe shortage of computer processors.

The Alienware Aurora R13 is our top pick for the best all-around gaming PC. When it comes to configurations, it has a wide range of options that can accommodate any budget, and the components you select are housed in a new Legend 2.0 chassis that is stylish, roomy, and reasonably quiet.

We recommend the Acer Predator Orion 3000 if you’re buying a PC for someone new to gaming PCs. For less than $2,000, you can get a gaming rig that can handle the latest games at 1080p or even 1440p. The case is small and easy to open for future upgrades, making it ideal. Just be aware that 4K gaming will be a challenge on this machine.

When it comes to pre-built gaming PCs, Dell’s XPS 8940 is a great option for those who prefer a more refined look (i.e., no flashing lights or other bells and whistles) but still have the power to play the latest games. Get Started 8 Steps to Becoming a Professional Gamer

We’ve put together this resource to help you become a professional gamer. Let’s jump right in.

For many gamers, becoming a professional gamer is a dream come true. You can earn money while having fun playing your favorite video games. As one might expect, esports tournaments aren’t as straightforward as one might think.

Try Several Games

It’s good to try out a few different games before committing to one as your entry into the Esports Hall of Fame. Professional tournaments currently feature the following game types:

Online slugfests involving multiple players. Professional players’ favorite games include Dota 2, League of Legends, Smite, and Heroes of the Storm.

FPS (first-person shooters). Of course, there are always the classics like Counter-Strike and Special Forces II. Tournaments are a thing in the world of third-person shooters.

Real-time strategy games like Warcraft III or Starcraft II.

Video games that feature violence. Games like Tekken, Street Fighter, and Killer Instinct use them, and they’ve been around since the early days of gaming competition.

Playing cards. The Arena of Magic: The Gathering.

Become a Better Player

To make it as a professional, you must be able to keep up with your peers. However, simply playing for the sake of playing isn’t sufficient. If you want to compete in the biggest esports events, you need to include strategy in your training.

However, there are a lot of resources available. For example, to improve your aim in FPS games, you can find tutorials online and learn the most popular and efficient techniques.

Also, keep an eye on online professional tournaments and jot down the tactics used by the top players. Another option is to watch other gamers as they play online.

Put Yourself to the Test

Professional tournaments can be extremely stressful, and your performance may suffer. This is why you need to get used to performing in front of an audience and under duress.

You can start small and stream your gaming sessions with a second PC if there are no tournaments for a while. Then, sign up for online competitions, and there is a chance that you will win a cash prize for participating in these competitions.

LAN tournaments are the next logical step. To give you a better idea of what it’s like to compete in a large, live tournament, we’ve put together a series of videos. To progress, you can begin by participating in local tournaments.

Invest in the Best Equipment Possible

No one can believe that you lost a game because of a malfunctioning mouse or keyboard, and this is why starting with high-end equipment is a good idea. Consider your needs before purchasing, as these peripherals can cost a significant amount of money.

Once you have your gear, make sure you use it consistently. Are you playing for fun or starting a five-hour training session? Use the same equipment. Muscle memory can be improved by familiarizing yourself with your equipment.

Organize Your Social Media Presence

You’ll run into better people than you in tournaments or when researching the best strategies. Try to know them and talk about their game strategy, training methods, or mental preparation for matches.

You can even organize tournaments and invite high-ranking players to participate. Learn about their strategy in real-time by using Discord or a similar app. Having connections with players who have already leaped the professional ranks can wonder about your future career prospects. You may be referred to other teams or sponsors for private sessions or invitations to special events.

Don’t Be a Noob.

As a professional gamer, you put in a lot of time and effort, so you need to take care of your body, mind, and spirit. If you want to work for a long time, you need to have a healthy work-life balance.

Remember that you may be viewed as a celebrity, so be respectful and avoid bringing up sensitive topics. Even if you’re losing, keep a positive attitude because you could be banned if you show a bad mood.

What You Need to Know About Gaming on an Aging Windows PC with Stunning Graphics and Smooth Framerates

To teach an old dog new tricks, you must make it easier for them to perform. Here’s how to get the most out of an older Windows PC’s performance.

In time, even the most powerful PC on the market today will be out-of-date. It’s only a matter of time before today’s most cutting-edge technology struggles to keep up with the most demanding games.

Fortunately, unlike consoles, PC gaming offers a significant advantage: the ability to customize your experience. You can keep the game’s graphics stunning while also speeding up framerates by fiddling with the game’s options.

What Causes Diminishing Framerates on a Computer?

Modern PCs are built on four main pillars, all of which can have an impact on how well a game runs:

  • The number of cores and the speed of the CPU.
  • The GPU’s performance, memory, and other capabilities.
  • The amount of RAM and its speed.

Effortless storage.

Framerates will drop if any of these properties fail to meet the expectations of the game. Learn more about “framerate” by reading our article on what FPS means in gaming, explaining why high FPS numbers are necessary for an enjoyable gaming experience.

The “slow” part could theoretically be improved. Generally, most people would prefer to delay a costly upgrade for as long as possible because it would necessitate purchasing a brand new laptop for most people.

Our guide on overclocking a graphics card in Windows 10 using ASUS GPU Tweak II is an alternative. Since this is all about overclocking your hardware, we’ve put together a guide on how to do so safely.

Would you prefer to avoid putting too much strain on your hardware? There’s still hope: You can identify what’s limiting a game’s performance and tweak it to improve its frame rate.

Increasing the CPU’s Power

Some in-game options may be helpful if the CPU is the bottleneck. Before changing settings, try “unburdening” the processor.

Terminate any other software that may be consuming CPU cycles and consuming resources. These “helpers” are often active in Windows’ tray. If you’re experiencing low FPS while playing a game on Windows, check out our guide to fixing it.

Also, be sure to look at our instructions on how to turn off GameDVR.

Go to the Performance tab in Task Manager if you’re concerned about the CPU. Logical processors can be viewed by right-clicking the graph and selecting Change graph > Logical processors from the drop-down menu.

Keep an eye on the graphs as you return to your game. There are some “logical processors” in the red, but most appear to be sleeping. Disabling hyperthreading in the BIOS/UEFI of your motherboard may be an option.

Multi-threaded software can benefit from hyperthreading, which breaks each CPU core into smaller “logical processors” to increase performance. It can hurt single-threaded application performance.

The general performance of the graphics processing unit

Despite having enough VRAM for the game, your graphics card may still underperform. Do you notice jittery frame rates due to this “underperformance”? The simplicity of the setting, such as a dark room with a handful of items and characters, affects the game’s smoothness. If that’s the case, the processing power of the GPU is most likely inadequate.

Besides upgrading your GPU, there aren’t many things you can do outside of the game to help this situation.

Fortunately, several visual settings can be changed to speed up a game’s playback speed. In order of importance:

  • Resolution
  • The ambiguity of the situation
  • Specifications of the model
  • Decals
  • Physics

To get a performance boost, the first thing you should do is lower the game’s resolution. A lower resolution can be upscaled to match your monitor’s native resolution using NVIDIA and AMD GPU technologies like DLSS and FSR, supported by nearly all modern GPUs from both companies.

Our guide on using AMD FSR on any game, even if your GPU is not supported on a driver level, has all the information you need. You only need a free tool called Magpie.

You’ll lose some clarity, but you’ll keep the game’s “looks” if you lower the resolution. If the game is still sluggish, you can try dropping the graphics settings mentioned above in the advanced stages.

Model detail should be the last thing to be added in most games. If you reduce the fidelity too much, the character models may resemble those of Super Mario 64.

Finding a Solution to Your Storage Problems

Unless you’re using blazing-fast NVMe drives, storage can be a bottleneck. Multitasking is the fastest way to degrade the performance of any storage device.

As a result, reduce the storage device’s load by running fewer processes. If the task manager shows that a program uses a lot of disc space, don’t just minimize it; remove it completely. Do this to allocate as much bandwidth to your game from your storage device.

Try to “spread the load” if you have multiple storage devices installed on your PC. Occasionally, the operating system needs to read and write data to them.

The OS should be installed on one device, while your games should be installed separately. As a result, each device will be able to focus on just one thing at a time: the OS, and your games, on the rest of the bandwidth.

3-Exclusives-that-Will-Make-You-Want-to-Own-a-PS4

3 Exclusives that Will Make You Want to Own a PS4

Ever since various consoles have come into existence, the console war was born. It all started in the 1970s, when Fairchild Channel F and the Atari 2600 were created. It would also be the birthplace of siding with one console and one set of games against another.

Today, this continues with Sony’s PlayStation 4, Microsoft’s Xbox One, the PC master race, and even the Nintendo Switch.

Let’s examine several upcoming PS4 exclusives that will maybe tip the scales in this consoles favor if you are having a hard time deciding.

Ghost of Tsushima

The first PS4 exclusive on the list is Ghost of Tsushima by Sucker Punch. Sucker Punch was responsible for the previous exclusive series Infamous, as well as the Sly Cooper series.

This next title is something unique, big, and bold. It is certainly something that is getting people excited.

The Ghost of Tsushima game takes place in feudal Japan. In it, you take control of a samurai who stands as a last line of defense against a coming horde. Sounds simple enough. What’s the fuss then?

It is an open world game. You’ll ride through Japan on your horse and dictate that path of your adventure.

The gameplay is comprised of advanced swordplay. The game takes into consideration the art and precision of the sword. Your counters need to be precise to land the killing blow.

There are also stealth portions of the game that will have you traverse certain areas by hiding and getting around areas with your trusty grappling hook.

Last of Us 2

Next, we have Last of Us 2. The first one was a tense and emotional experience that moved many people. It is considered one of the best PlayStation games ever made.

In the first game, you played as Joel and tried to survive in a mushroom infested world that had the infected turn into zombies.

In the second though, we see Ellie as a grown woman. She is just as fierce and determined to survive as Joel. The game will hopefully show us what Joel’s fate was, if he is still alive, and what will happen to this girl’s life.

Death Stranding

Finally, we have Death Stranding. This is the biggest mystery on the list. From the trailers and gameplay shown, it seems to take place in a weird universe where people with super powers, invisible monsters, and precious babies in tubes exist.

While the whole thing is still a big mystery wrapped in an enigma, there are a great many things present that still excite people.

For one, it is helmed by legendary video game creator Hideo Kojima. Kojima previously worked in Konami and created the Metal Gear series. If you have never played Metal Gear, they are masterpieces of espionage gameplay, storytelling, and world building.

Apart from that, Norman Reedus who plays Darly in the Walking Dead TV series is the main character of the game. For the villain we have Mads Mikkelsen.

These are only a few upcoming PS4 exclusives for 2019. For those who own other consoles, worry not. We have other articles similar to this and analyzing upcoming video games for all consoles and that everyone can look forward to.
